Lebensbaumkreis and Oktogon Café

Get to know this side of Vienna where strangeness, future and culture meet!

Seek out for the “Lebensbaumkreis”. The impressive circle in the middle of a field is supposed to be a reference to a Celtic ritual place. Around the circle are situated 40 trees each equipped with a highly futuristic “information point”. You’ll get all the important information on the tree, its characteristics and meaning via those panels. You can find the tree corresponding to your birthday and find out more about yourself, just in case. On weekends the 40 hubs play back altogether a piece of classical music. Really! Sit down somewhere, look and listen at the scenery and ask yourself “what the heck …?” First chance to recover from this unique experience is the Oktogon Café. Its architecture represents, surprise surprise, the trunk of a tree.
