In celebration of all things analogue, consider this fun offline endeavor tonight: enjoy a campfire with your friends!
I love sitting around bonfires at night, especially when I’m at the beach. I recently went to Zambales with my lomography.com office mates and here’s what went down at our campfire.
First, we packed our bags and coolers with food and beverages. Think of it as a picnic, but at night, and with fire. Don’t forget your flashlight and fire-starting materials!
Next, we combed the beach for some firewood, bamboo, grass, and leaves. Scavenging for combustibles is also a great way to get your eyes adjusted to the dark.
Let there be light! We had some kerosene packed and it made our fire burn brighter and stronger. The pyromaniacs in our group sure had a grand time, but remember to always be safe! Do not play with fire, stay away from the embers, etc.
Now pick a comfortable spot around the campfire and settle down for some singing, story-telling, and stargazing!
If you don’t have music, let the sound of the crackling flames and crashing waves surround you. Lie back on a beach blanket and map out the constellations in the sky. Talk about anything and everything under the moon and stars with your buddies. Take photos so you can relive those memories!
