Fellow Aucklanders! Stuck on where to take your loved ones for Saint Valentine’s Day? Want to go out for a romantic meal but not sure where to go? Let me give you a few ideas!
February 14th – Saint Valentine’s Day. A special day, dedicated to celebrating the wonderful feeling that is love. Whether you chose to celebrate with a lavish meal at a fancy restaurant or a romantic date on a budget, I’ve got a few recommendations that you can consider taking your loved one this year!
To those who want a fine dining experience this Valentine’s Day, I highly recommend you make a reservation at Antoine’s where you can indulge in some of Auckland’s finest dishes cooked by Tony Astle, the ‘godfather of Auckland Hospitality’. The portions are generous, the menu is extensive and the atmosphere is intimate and romantic! It’s an expensive night out, but it is well worth the money!
If you’re after a more casual affair, consider heading into Highbrook and enjoy a meal at Fisher House. The building incorporates a casual dining area, bar and an outdoor terrace. You can sit back, enjoy the views of the garden while wining and dining with your loved ones. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and they make fresh and seasonal meals from locally sourced produce.
If you’re on a budget and can’t afford a pricey meal out, how about planning ahead and get some dessert from Vaniye to eat at home? This well-hidden Parisian patisserie store sells delicious handmade cakes and tarts as well as dainty macarons that will satisfy any sweet tooth! They’re only open till around 7pm, however. So you better plan ahead!
Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! Lomo love all around! xoxo
