Raising Spirits, Raising Friends - CCRT Benefit Event Helps Re-Home Adoptable Puppies

Our good friends from the Canadian Chihuahua Rescue and Transport have been sharing their analogue adventures with us for the past few months and we’ve been intrigued by these adorable pups, not to mention the great cause they stand for. February 10th marks their Valentine’s Day event – Be sure to support and check them out if you’re in Toronto!

The CCRT has rescued hundreds of chihuahua dogs since its founding, many of them coming into rescue out of backyard breeding operations and puppy mills. With the increased number of puppy mill seizures, the organization is preparing to rescue hundreds more.

The organization has just released a video which tells just one story that speaks to the work of these dedicated volunteers, and the challenges they are willing to take on in rehabilitating and the safe re-homing of the small creatures that have no voice themselves. A quartet of puppy mill dogs has just come into the rescue — Billy and Morgan are 2-3 years old; Dexter is 18 months old and the most terrified; and Oliver is just 5 months old – all are now safe in foster care with CCRT. To learn more about the organization, its work and its adoptable dogs, please visit their website .

Canadian Chihuahua Rescue and Transport (CCRT) is privileged to hold its annual “friend-raising” event hosted by Tina Chuck and the TorontoChihuahua Meet Up Group on Facebook, this year taking place on Sunday, February 10, 2013.

Join fellow Chihuahua lovers at the February 10 event, which is open not only to those who already have chihuahuas and chihuahua mixes, but for those who might want to adopt, volunteer or donate to the rescue group. More info and details on Facebook here

TorontoChihuahua Meet Up Group, organized by Tina Chuck, gathers each month to host a two-hour Chihuahua party. In the winter, the events happens at the indoor off leash facility called Pawsway in Toronto. In summer weather, it happens in various outdoor off leash parks. Tina posts all the details on Facebook here
