Fiolent Our Secret Beach

2009-11-21 19

There are a lot of different beaches in Crimea, simply million or so. But more fabulous place I did not meet.

It is almost winter. It is cold and wind is piercing, it is snow in many cities and countries. But sometimes you want heat the sun, and memories about the last summer especially give a comfort. Exactly such memories remind me that place we’re going to speak! We discovered this place this year and we liked in so much!.

It is in Crimea, it is a cape of Fiolent, there is a stop “Beacon”.There is very sheer, and even dangerous descent to the sea, only develops an interest, but when you reached the sea, it will not leave you indifferent. Color of the water simply amazed your imagination, it is heavenly- turquoise color. There are little beaches or more wild spots, where is few people and nobody will disturb you.

There are unique rocks shape, from which you can jump into the turquoise smooth of the water. Also there is a fine sand on the bottom, and the water acquires a special color. Amateurs to dive and can examine underwater world and they will be simply in captures over this place. There are a lot of different beaches in Crimea, simply million or so. But more fabulous place I did not meet. One love

    Janne Parviainen: Light Magician

Janne Parviainen is a 35-year-old artist from Helsinki, Finland. He is both a painter and a photographer but sometimes, he swaps his painting tools for light and creates illuminated pieces of art. Abandoned places are his favorite places for shoots because, according to him, "there's so much lived life and stories in abandoned places, they are the lost diaries and photos turned to dust of lives that once bloomed."

Cinematographer Michal Dabal on the Petzval Lens

Here’s what happens before we interview a photographer. We gush about the work though we have yet to find out the cameras and processes behind the brilliant composition or the light architecture. This makes us mighty glad, more so when their images are good and worth sharing. We count cinematographer Michal Dabal's work among them.

Self to the World: The Photography of Leanne Surfleet

A self-portrait may take root in confidence, extreme shyness or alternate bouts of each. Leanne Surfleet goes through this kind of fluctuation when the camera is all eyes. The attraction—as far as we’re concerned—is the mix of uncertainty and a kind of quiet poise. And here and there, a flash of skin that is more a mystery than full-on revelation. Even Surfleet’s portraits of other people have the same hushed invite, as if to say questions are encouraged. There we took our cue.
