Analogue Bucket List for 2013: Oh, the Places I'll Go (Part 2)

2013-01-22 2

In the previous article, I told about my little mission to visit four Philippine lighthouses that are nearest to Manila, my hometown. In this second installment of my wanderlust-driven analogue bucket list, I will tell you about the beaches I want to frolic in and of course, photograph in glorious slide films!

In Turquoise Waters

Last year, I wrote about how the Philippines, as a country with more than 7,000 islands, is endowed with many beautiful beaches perfect for summer getaways. As an ardent traveler myself, I try to have as many seaside escapes in this sunny side of the globe as I can, and of course, I bring along my film cameras and some slide films with me in each journey.

This year, I hope to visit a number of my country’s scenic seascapes which I also intend to photograph in slide film, just like I’ve always done!

Capones Island (San Antonio, Zambales)

I know I mentioned in the previous installment that I wanted to visit this island particularly because of its antiquated lighthouse. It’s first in this list because I may actually get to visit the island very soon, in hopes of getting to the lighthouse and frolicking on the island’s beautiful shoreline as part of an island-hopping tour.

Boracay (Aklan)

I feel silly for saying this, but I’ve never been to Boracay, which is considered to be one of the top beaches in the Philippines. The sand is powdery-white, the waters are inviting and perfect for swimming, the sunset is simply breath-taking — I could go on and on, mimicking the reasons people have said time and time again as to why this particular beach is worth coming to. But, that probably won’t mean a thing to me unless I get there, see everything with my own eyes, and experience everything myself.

Hundred Islands (Alaminos, Pangasinan)

I’m actually lucky since Alaminos, Pangasinan is my dad’s hometown and we can just go to the Hundred Islands National Park and go island-hopping whenever we want, but I haven’t seen these islands for almost 15 years now! It’s always a matter of wrong timing — they go when I can’t go and vice-versa. So, this year, hopefully, I’ll finally get to pay these beautiful islands a visit. I want to see how things have changed in the past years.
