To Infinity and Beyond: Toy Story Gets the Live-Action Treatment

How far are you willing to go to express your love for a movie? Well, whatever it is, I bet it wouldn’t top what Jonason Pauley and Jesse Perrotta did for Toy Story! Read on!

We all know Toy Story as that wonderful cinematic masterpiece released in 1995 by Pixar Studios and Walt Disney Pictures. It was an instant classic, not only for being the first feature-length computer-animated film, but also for its charming story and endearing set of characters.

And over this past weekend, fans have been treated to a wave of nostalgia as a full-length, shot-by-shot, live-action remake of the film has been uploaded in the popular video-hosting site Youtube.

Made by Jonason Pauley and Jesse Perrotta, the live-action remake took two straight years to be shot and filmed using a normal camcorder. They used the official versions of the toys from the franchise, and DIY versions of the mutant toys that appear later on in the movie.

If you are curious to know, Pixar and Disney are fully aware of what Pauley and Perrotta had done, and so far, they have not yet been called out for copyright infringement. In fact, if there are any updates or clips that are to be uploaded (via the project’s Facebook page), Pauley and Perrotta make sure that the people from Pixar get to see it first.

“We put up some behind-the-scenes and small clips of it as we were doing it,” Pauley says. “People who work at Pixar were excited about it and they had seen the clips of it.” – via BuzzFeed

You gotta admire these two for their dedication!
