Lord of the Rings fans, gather ‘round because we’ve got some preciousss shots to tide you over til the next “The Hobbit” film! Check out these rare behind-the-scenes photos from 2001’s “The Fellowship of the Ring” featuring LomoAmigo Elijah Wood as Frodo and a napping Ian McKellen as Gandalf.

As LOTR fans know, life in Middle Earth isn’t always easy and the journey to Mordor can be even harder.

In the above photo, we see the hobbit Frodo (played by Elijah Wood) chillin’ like a (non)villain alongside snoozing wizard Gandalf (Ian McKellen). Hey, fantastic characters need rest, too.

Shot during production for The Fellowship of the Ring (2001), it was the first title from J.R.R. Tolkien ’s best-selling novels The Lord of the Rings to be adapted into film.
