Coming from the United States, this Lomographer sure knows how to “play” with his analogue cameras, resulting to brilliant photographs you just can’t help but adore. Say hello to Alexander or oramasalexander!

How did you find out about the Community and who/what convinced you to join?

I went to San Francisco for spring break and while I was at some small photography shop there, next to a Starbucks, I asked one of the workers where I could find film and he suggested I go to a store called “Lomography.” Ever since I’ve been getting all of my film from there.

Is there anyone in the Lomographic Society you look up to? If yes, who is him/her and why?

110isnotdead is just a great photographer who really enjoys what he does.

As you have read the 10 Golden Rules of Lomography, what rule do you apply in your everyday life?

As corny as it sounds, just do whatever it is you enjoy doing.

In this digital age, why still film?

I’ve always enjoyed photography. I started with my sister’s Pentax then soon after got myself a Nikon D70s. But once I got my Nikon FM10 I fell in love with it — something about developing your own photos and seeing how they turn out weeks after you took them (at least if you leave things off for a long time like myself) is just so much better than being able to see what you took right away.

What are you looking forward to in our Community?

I’m really looking forward to doing a film-swap, it seems that every time I find someone who says they’re available to do them, they’re never down.

Your favorite analogue camera as of the moment? Why?

I don’t own one but I’ve used it many times before, the Lubitel 166+! I just love the way it shoots. It has a waist-level view finder, and let’s not forget about being able to switch between 35mm and medium format.

What is the Lomographic camera you’d want to have someday?

The Belair X 6-12. I’m a fan of medium format and it just looks (and according to the few reviews up) shoots and works wonderfully.

Share your current favorite Lomograph (could be yours or a friend’s) and explain why it is your favorite.

My favorite Lomograph would be Le Group:

When I went to Wekiva Springs with the fans and some friends, I made them pose for me to take the photo, and as I was reeling back the film I realized there were no exposures left on the film so I had to go to the car, get another roll of film, and when I came back they were all there in the same position and I just couldn’t stop laughing. Just some good ‘ol memories.

Are you new in this Community? Wanna say hello? Then drop me a line at mayee.gonzales@lomography.com and you might just be our next Newcomer of the Week!
