May saw Lomography’s in-depth coverage of the Cannes Film Festival and one of the top news that month was actor Brad Pitt being spotted with the Spinner 360!! Let’s not forget the limited edition Lomokino Mubi signed by renowned filmmaker Apichatpong Weerasethakuls. We also wrote about What a 24-Hour Exposure Looks Like, Diana Cameras Saved from a Burning House, The Camera Collection, and Lomographic Posters by Ishepel. The Lomography Orca B&W 110 film was also launched then and we told you everything you need to know about the Orca.

Analogue Lifestyle

Because of the Orca, May was also a month of getting familiar with various film formats, such as 110 and 120. We also wrote about The Jacks & Jills of All Films - 120 Edition and Masters & Mirrors. Other fun reads include Hollywood Audition for Black Cats, Cross Processing Colour Guide, Adam Yauch aka MCA Climbing a Cinema Marquee with the Help of the Other Beastie Boys, From Russia with Love, The 7 Analogue Changes in My Life, and You and Your Camera in Analogue.

Emulsions like Fuji Velvia 50 and Lomography Redscale were put to the test, as well as cameras like the Yashica Electro 35, Lubitel 166+, Rolleiflex, PN929, and Minolta X-300. You also dug accessory reviews of the Diana+ 35mm Back and the mysterious Jupiter Scope Filter.

Back to exploring other film sizes, we saw lots of innovative analogue projects such as How to Modify 120 Film for a 620 Film Camera, Create Your Own 120 Film from 25mm Films, and How to Make Your Own 127 Film. Other popular crafts were thread-wrapped leather camera straps, the Agfa Vista Cocktail, matchbox pinholes, replacement Diana Mini caps, and Lomo scrapbooks. The Orca release also saw a clamor for 110 film labs and 10 things you may not know about black and white photography.
