Self Portraits - Fun with Instax Mini!

I use the Fuji Instax Mini 7s for all my instant shots and, for all of us who own one knows, the flash cannot be turned off. This results in many overexposed shots, especially with close up shots.
To remedy this problem, try taping a piece of orange coloured sweet wrapper over the flash to tone it down. (You’ll also end up with a colour splashed image too!)

For the ones of you out there that are camera shy, there’s a solution to that also. Just use masks! Monkey masks, rabbit masks, anything that covers your face really :)
I did a quick search around my house and found a pair of glasses, a bow, a rubber duck and got this…

If you haven’t already you should definitely get your hands on the close up lens. It easily clips onto the front of your camera, allows you to shoot at distances of 40-60 cm and with the mirror attachment you can easily frame yourself as well! (I got the above image using this lens)
You’ve set up your shot, taken the photo, that’s it right? Wrong. One word. Stickers.

Over the last few years, I’ve taken many shots that were framed wrong due to the parallax error (yokekei wrote a great tipster about it here) and many that were just plan boring. Simply applying some stickers can totally change this!

After the stickers I went looking for other things that I could stick to my shots and that’s when I stumbled on some googly eyes…
Right, that’s from me now, I’ve got to go hit people with my spatula(?!) See you next time and thanks for reading!
