Over the Horizon, or How the Horizon Kompakt is Amazing.

2012-11-20 7

The Horizon Kompakt is an amazing panoramic camera. Named the “Russian Widelux”, the panoramic capabilities make this camera an amazing fellow traveler….

The first time I saw a photo taken with a Horizon camera, I fell in love. All these greatness photos are amazing. One camera, and all the world between your hands. And this phrase it all true! Because if you aren’t aware of your hand when holding the camera, they’ll appear in the photo!

The firs step using a Horizon camera is loading of the film. It’s a little tricky, but when you got it, it’s really easy. Later, comes the best part of holding a Horizon It’s when you look through the viewfinder. The first reaction is simply “Wow!” The world looks different with this camera. It looks really huge!. The landscapes are true landscapes! And the magic moment happens. First, you arm your camera. Moving your finger to attach the shooter and the moving lens to the “fire” position… but wait… moving lens? Yes, due to the moving lens, and the special holding system for the film inside the camera, the photos taken with a Horizon don’t appear deformed! The photo comes when you push the button. Click!… swoooshhhh! The camera has a distinctive sound. The first click, that activates the moving lens, and the following swoosh when the lens are moving, rotating from one side of the frame to another… It’s really awesome!

I try to take the camera in all the travels I do, and believe me, if you take this camera with you, you won’t take bad photos anymore. All the photos you take, are great panoramic images, full of awesomeness.
