More Film, More Fun with Community LomoKino LomoAmigo Gomi11

He has shared lots of sweet Lomographs to us all and he won’t let us miss his awesome analogue movies!

And he sure is into experimenting when it comes to his LomoKino! From films, accessories, and also scanning, we have got to give it to Jaume or gomi11 as he is this week’s featured LomoKino LomoAmigo!

Come on and see our interview with him below.

Name: Jaume Vilaseca
Lomography Username: gomi11
Location: Girona, Catalunya, Spain

Tell us about yourself. What do you do for a living? What are your interests?

Hello! I am a man from La Bisbal, a fresh graduate of business administration, and is currently in Girona. I dedicate my artistic hobbies into photography, music, or video editing. I have liked making videos even before discovering Lomography. I do stop motion with my toys to spend an afternoon, also with the LomoKino.

How long have you been a Lomographer and how did you find out about the Community?

I bought a Fisheye no. 2 some two years ago and I photographed what I wanted to give a new perspective. The Fisheye no. 2 joined the two old cameras that were lying around my parents’ house, a focus free yellow camera and an Olympus Trip 35 my Father had forgotten in the drawer! I did my first experimental reels with these.

Describe the LomoKino.

Surprisingly different and has a unique and original excitement waiting to be revealed.

How did you like shooting with the LomoKino?

I’ve played enough with the LomoKino and it is something you can use to record life. I want to make a story out of it.

Diablo

What or who has inspired you to purchase and use the LomoKino?

I bought the LomoKino two months ago at the Lomography Embassy Store Sau Paulo. The idea was to film a lot of LomoKino movies while traveling in Brazil and set up a video with them. After the result, I kind of regret not getting more films!

Any funny or strange encounters you’ve had with it?

In my recent use, it actually caused a sensation! During the Comelade Pascal concert, I asked some lady to give me a pass so I can enter the [photographer’s] pit. When she saw the LomoKino, she was instantly puzzled and explained that I just had to aim the camera while turning the crank. I also had a scare once when I brought it to the beach and it got wet.

LomoKinos en Brasil

If you could shoot any person alive or dead (or imaginary) with your LomoKino, who would it be and why?

I would like to shoot Joel Gion of the Brian Jonestown Massacre while he smokes and plays the tambourine! I’m a big fan!

Kindly share to us any LomoKino movie you love the most.

The Incredible Story of Dr. Lomotnik by arnaudmartin

Any future plans with your LomoKino? More shoots or a full-length film perhaps?

My next video will be a holiday LomoKino film of us having fun in Barcelona. Almost all of the rolls are still in the lab so I’m really anxious how it would go! Furthermore, I would like to make a zombie-themed short. I would have to experiment on the LomoKino and various films to see which is the perfect match for this project..

Vacaciones Dimitrix

Another one is to use the lens as a LomoKinoscope camera since I did not use a negative scanner. I’m not sure if someone has done it before but you would have to modify and use spools of redscale to make it look “normal.” It really is interesting! I also have deviced a periscope to improve the viewfinder and not cut so many heads.

Your advice to future LomoKino users.

First is to check the rewind crank, make sure that it rotates while the loading of the camera shot! Second is, use a negative scanner.
