Whats better than spending a Saturday on the flea market hunting for old cameras and other precious snips!
The flea market at the bank on the river “Leine” is one of the oldest flea markets on Saturday in Germany. Every Saturday from 8 till 16 o’clock you can go hunting and haggling for bargains or just enjoy the bazaar-like atmosphere.
Since it’s not allowed to sell “new” stuff, there are always a lot of antiques to find. As with every flea market, car boot sale, garage sale or jumble sale it’s vital to show up early to snag some real treasure.
I go there on a regular basis on hunt for old cameras or just enjoy a chat with the camera enthusiasts among the traders. You can take photos of people haggling and chatting or of old and sometimes bizarre stuff. Or you can just enjoy the atmosphere and go sightseeing for the “Nanas”, sculptures by the artist Niki-de-Saint-Phalles or the old town of Hannover.
I think that this is one of the most atmospheric flea markets I have visited so far, for visitors it’s a good place to start a lomographic sightseeing day in Hannover!

We spend copious amounts of time stalking camera forums and researching specifications that "hunter" seems a more fitting term than "collector." And yet, when the time comes to pack all this game—the new or thrillingly ancient cameras—we DIY padding on the spot. (Guilty of trying to avoid the unappealing gear bag from the department store.) Last year though we stocked up on camera bags that are as cool as they are protective. Here are some of them.

We can only imagine what the past was like. Experiment-ready film photographers often recreate it in rose-colored filters and tints. On the other hand, some artists reimagine old photos by manually coloring them.
Mobile phones have a secondary function as camera, but taking a snap, choosing a random filter and uploading it on social media may not be fulfilling enough for some. Pros and hobbyists alike buy gear to satisfy their artistic cravings, while others make do with what they have.
