Children? I don’t have them yet, I was a child long before today. All of us were once kids and all of us certainly have a photo when we were still children, still cute and innocent. But now we are crazy Lomographers that shoot everything around us including children. Maybe our cute cousin or adorable children you see running around. Here’s some dead-easy tips to shoot children. Kids, this one is for you!
1. Surprise Them!
Yes! Surprise them with our Lomographic cameras! I usually scream their name first then “CLICK!!”
2. Get Close!
I just keep doing this rule, one of the golden rules of Lomography! Get close, kids! “CLICK!!” “CLICK!!”
3. Don’t Think! Be Spontaneous!
Sometimes I’m too lazy to call them so I just go near them then let the camera do the work. “CLICK!!” “CLICK!!” “CLICK!!”
4. Take a Photo with Them!
There’s nothing better than take a photo with them. I count it as a practice before I have my own kids so smile and say “CHEESE!!” … “CLICK!!” “CLICK!!” “CLICK!!” “CLICK!!”
5. Have Fun!
Kids are born to have fun and play before they go into the awkward teenager phase. I said that after seeing my childhood photos. Oh man! So much fun in me. Then I saw my photos when I was a teenager, so awkward! But now I think I’m turning into a child again as I shoot and play with my cameras everyday. Stay young and shoot crazy!
