Besides going to Art museum or Art gallery to appreciate works of Art you can also bring the original artwork home! We’re not talking about an elaborate museum heist but the Affordable Art Fair in Singapore. Amid the Art for sale, this four-day event comprises workshops and free talks. So, come one come all to the Affordable Art Fair!
The concept of this fair is to creating an inspiring and friendly atmosphere in which you can find original artwork from young and emerging artists that’s affordable (which is an important point for many of us on a tight budget). The pieces range from SGD 100 to SGD 10,000.
The Affordable Art Fair features prints, photography, contemporary original paintings, and sculpture. This year there are over 85 galleries participating from 18 different countries! This popular art fair is now being held in major cities of the world including New York, Seattle, Milan, Mexico City, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Hamburg and London. Just take a look at the worldwide calendar for 2012! And the fair isn’t something new to Singapore as it was the first Asian city to host the Affordable Art Fair back in 2010.
Perfect for young and old alike, the Young Talent Programme showcases exceptional works of emerging artists under 30. Enroll you kids in an Art Boot Camp at the Children’s Art Studio and who knows, a few years down the road they’ll be selling prints at a fair just like this one! While their working their magic you can enjoy a hands-on printmaking demonstration hosted by renowned printmaster Marissa Keller. 10 other local Singapore printmaking artists will showcase their work at this fair too. Brings me back to Singapore’s La Sardina Wardrobe Exhibit – go local talent!
No matter if you’re able achieve the piece of art you had your heart set on, it’ll be one of the most fun and inspiring events in Singapore this year! So, note down the details that follow and share with friends!
