Kitt Santos is a designer and illustrator who mixes elements of folklore with pop art. His kick-ass body of work references Art Nouveau, architecture in general, contemporary art, and is inspired by high fashion and the feminine form. He has christened his La Sardina DIY “La Sardina Oceanid” and warns that bad luck might befall any who set their eyes upon her…
Born in Manila, Philippines, Kitt was trained as an architect before moving to Singapore in 2009, where he currently resides and works in multi-discipinary creative communications agency fFurious as an Interactive Designer.
HIS LA SARDINA DIY
Kitt’s “La Sardina Oceanid” is based on Daughters of the Sea, a series of illustrations by Kitt about the sea nymphs in Greek mythology. With an exterior the texture of corals and starfish-esque needles, she resides in the darkest depths and devours all light within the vicinity.
AN INTERVIEW WITH KITT
Kitt speaks of his first experience with the La Sardina and falling in love with Lomography shortly after moving to Singapore, and how he balances out the darker themes surrounding ‘La Sardina Oceanid’ with lighter colours.
