Auckland – the largest city in New Zealand – has a population of over 1.3 million people and is located in the northern central region of the North Island of New Zealand. This location series will introduce you to some of the best spots and attractions that Auckland has to offer. But first, let me give you an introduction!
Whether you have an adventure addiction and in need for a dose of adrenaline, a nature-enthusiast who enjoys hiking through a native bush, or a lover of food who enjoys wining and dining at some of the best restaurants – Auckland has something for everyone! It’s a big little city that is bursting with culture, heritage, and hidden gems!
Adventure junkies can bungy off the Auckland Harbour Bridge, surf the waves at Piha beach, experience the thrill of jet boating around the Auckland Harbour, or even leap off the Sky Tower and experience falling at 85kph!
For a naturist who loves the environment, Auckland is overflowing with parks and reserves which is a haven for flora and fauna! You can also find other kinds of wildlife such as whales and dolphins by cruising on the Hauraki Gulf and visiting the surrounding islands and coasts.
Or if you’re a foodie like me, Auckland is full of choices when it comes to cafes, restaurants, wineries, and farmer’s markets! There will be a separate location series that is dedicated to the amazing eateries that Auckland has to offer. :)
I’ve lived in Auckland for over 20 years and it is a remarkable city that has much to offer. Hopefully, this series will highlight and demonstrate how special Auckland is and encourage travelers to head down under and visit this big little city.
