Creative Corner: Photo Accordion Box

A quick and easy tipster for those of you that don’t have much time to spend on arts and crafts. This little box is the perfect gift for anyone to express your love, happiness, gratitude, thoughts, etc! Read on to find out how to make it.

My boyfriend was sick with the flu and there wasn’t much that I could do to help. But I decided to make him a little something to brighten his day, so I made him this photo accordion box.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • A box of any size, depending how large you want your photos
  • Photos of the same length and width that will fit in the box
  • Scissors
  • Tape
  • Cardstock
  • Optional: Ribbon

First, you’ll want to cut out all of your photos out. Make sure they’re all the same size!

Second, cut out a strip of cardstock that is as long as your box, and the same size as the photos.

Next, tape your first photo onto the end of the cardstock. From there, begin folding it, accordion style.

After you finish folding, you’ll have to decide what order to put your photos in. Tape the rest of them on! You may also want to leave some of the accordion panels blank so that you can write a short message on it.

Almost there! Tape the last panel of the accordion to the bottom of the box. This is so that the photos will stay in the box when it is opened.

Lastly, folding your accordion down into the box and tape a small piece of cardstock to the first photo. It indicates where the receiver will need to pull to open the accordion.

Close the box! You may decide to add some decoration, or a ribbon to tie it off (haha pun-ny). You can hole punch a small piece of cardstock to slide onto the ribbon to address the receiver of your box. And there you have it!

I presented this to my boyfriend with a box of brownies, he loved it :)
