While many of us do not think twice about throwing away those broken computer keyboards, Australian artist WBK most likely does not think twice about keeping them instead. What for? To make amazing portraits with! Take a look at some of the ones he made after the jump!
Is your keyboard broken? You’re going to throw that now, won’t you? But wait, before you do, allow me to show you the works of Australian artist Work By Night (WBK), made using old keyboard keys and typewriter keys thrown in between.
To date, WBK has amassed a huge collection of portraits made using the keys off old, broken keyboards that must have driven their previous owners mad. He has created portraits ranging from iconic personalities and celebrities like John Lennon, Salvador Dali, Andy Warhol, Mark Twain, Bruce Lee, and Marilyn Monroe, to more contemporary ones like Tom Cruise, Jim Carrey, Jack Black, Amy Winehouse, Alicia Keys (sorry, I had to put her in the roster, but seriously, there’s a keyboard portrait of her!), Jack Nicholson, and Johnny Depp. Heck, I’d even throw in his keyboard portraits of Superman, Robocop, and R2D2 for good measure.
I wonder, will he make me a portrait if I donate the keys off my malfunctioning keyboard at home? I’m close to peeling all of them off in frustration. Hmm.
