As you can see from my album and articles, I love staying outdoors, I like to swim, dive, and ride a bike. Also, I’ve always taken a special interest on the sea, which stems way back to my childhood. Here are some photos from my first adventures on the Italian beaches.
When I was a child, Rimini was the preferred destination of my parents for a beach holiday. This didn’t just happen in August or in the middle of the summer season because I often stayed there even in June or July, in the company of my maternal grandparents.
Reviewing these pictures made me remember a lot of things: I’ve always liked dressing up in colorful t-shirts, especially yellow, red or blue but always with a special predilection for yellow. I always feel like smiling whenever I see myself wearing socks with sandals!
The word “gelateria” (ice cream shop) in the background reminds me that in Rimini, my grandmother made me taste pistachio ice cream for the first time and it’s still one of my favorite flavors!
The characters “AAL” in the background of this photo are what’s left of the sign “Hotel Kursaal”, where I passed many summer vacations!
As a child I was reluctant to take off my shoes and socks and sometimes I cried when my parents leave me without them…but now one of the most enjoyable things for me is to spend the summer barefooted!
I’ve always liked the water!
And I always liked handle something…I was happier playing in the sand than just sitting on the deckchairs!
At lunch and dinner, I was always capricious…there was hardly anything that fit my taste!
I’ve always loved the amusement park rides that I still frequent today, especially when I find some high-adrenalin attractions!
When I started to attend primary school, my parents have abandoned the holidays in a hotel in favor of camping! For me it was a wonderful discovery, as I felt really free!
Finally, I leave you with a photo taken by my mother with “my” Kodak Instamatic! My favorite one!
All these photos, except the last two, were taken with an Agfa Optima IIS camera.
