Escape to Hort Park

2012-09-06 2

A couple of friends and I were trying to think of a good hideaway for the weekend and decided to visit somewhere close to nature: Hort Park. It is a quaint park nestled near the harbor front in Singapore with endearing horticulture and shrubs.

Officially launched by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Hort Park is a 23-hectare park in the Southwestern part of Singapore. It is a lifestyle hub that provides a variety of activities (gardening-related, recreational, educational, research, and retail act) together under one roof in a park setting.

Via the usage of elevated walkways and connecting bridges, the park serves as a park connector that allows visitors to travel around Kent Ridge Park, Telok Blangah Hill Park, and Mount Faber Park conveniently.

It is also famed as a knowledge hub for plants and gardening, provision of gardening ideas and solutions. It also offers an avenue for enthusiasts to share best practices and showcase garden designs, products, and services.

It is a popular destination among families (especially those with small children), gardening enthusiasts, and community groups who like a peaceful and relaxing environment.

The park has ample space for you to roam around and admire the scenery or rest on a bench and catch up with friends. We had a very quiet and comfortable time there, and are eager to head back soon.
