Fritz the Blitz Adapter Kit: Take Your Favorite Flash To A Whole New Level!

2012-08-29 9

Have your ever wondered how to use your La Sardina Flash aka Fritz the Blitz on other cameras? Well the answer is really simple, get your hands on a Fritz the Blitz Adapter Kit ASAP!

If you’re anything like me and just love everything about your La Sardina Flash then you will most definitely appreciate the small but handy Fritz the Blitz Adapter Kit

There’s not that much to it and that is basically one of the things i like the most about it: its simplicity. The adapter basically consists of three parts: 1 hot-shoe adapter cable, 1 flash bracket and 1 flash bracket extension.

First let me show you what the hot-shoe adapter cable looks like:

This cable is pretty much where all the magic happens. On one end you’ll find the connector that goes to the bottom of your Fritz the Blitz Flash…

…and on the other end, you’ll see the hot-shoe connector (which is pretty much an industry standard for flash connections) which will allow you to use your Fritz the Blitz Flash on pretty much any camera both analogue or digital. Here you can see an example of how to connect it to a LomoKino camera and a Lubitell 166+:

The flash bracket and the flash bracket extension come together. You can use them as one when you need the extension, or take the bracket extension out when you only need the bracket.

Both the bracket and the extension have a small screw, like the ones on a tripod. This is what you screw to the bottom of your camera to secure bracket and consequently your Fritz the Blitz.

The final feature, which is pretty useful on certain situations is the how the upper section of the bracket (where you position your Fritz the Blitz) has a 90º inclination, which means you can “throw” your flash back if you need to.

So now you now, if you’re looking for the best way to use your fabulous Fritz the Blitz flash on any other camera get your very own Fritz the Blitz Adapter Kit.

I use it with my Kino and Blackbird, Fly. Only issue was the plug socket disappeared indeed the flash on day when I went to plug in the connector cable. This meant having to strip the flash down and then glue it back in place, not an easy job. That aside, since the repair I wouldn't be without it.

@sedgetone the good thing is its holding up! I find specially for the LomoKino on low light situations it's a real life saver

Except it doesn't charge fast enough to make a smooth flowing movie with the lomokino

@exit14 with a fresh battery it will charge pretty fast but you might have a couple of frames with less light

I had a fresh battery just out of the package from Lomography. To me it seemed like no light on other frames.

@exit14 I guess it depends on the lighting conditions around you... This is a nice example it has a couple of darker frames but it plays out nice.…

@guanatos I like your film, I have to say it seemed there were quite a few of dark spots from the flash. I just think it's not fast enough to be used with the kino unless it's to add just a bit of light, like you say and not depend on it.

@exit14 thanks but the film is not mine you can see more from susielomovitz here:
I agree. There will always be several dark spots, but then again the Fritz the Blitz is not thought to be used as a primary light source on the LomoKino, but rather to ad some light as you mention.
