A lomo-documentation of a 6-hour trip from Akron, Ohio to Toronto, Canada that my girlfriend and I made, along with one of our perfect analogue travel companions, the Diana F+! Check out the photos we took after the jump!
We made the 6-hour drive from Ohio to Toronto to go see Sigur Rós, but we figured, while we’re at it, why not make it into a short vacation?
While driving into Canada on the QEW, we spotted what looked like a shipwreck, so we immediately got off the highway at the nearest exit and back-tracked to the ship, which was moored in Jordan Harbor. After researching about the boat some time later, I discovered that it was originally a ferry-turned-restaurant boat called “La Grande Hermine.” Check out the video below:
During our visit, we stayed at a neat hotel (with an awesome rooftop bar) called The Drake located on West Queen Street. And imagine our surprise when we found the Lomography Canada Gallery Store while walking around in the neighborhood! Shane helped me pick out some new E-6 film to try-out during our stay. We also couldn’t resist a trip to the top of the CN Tower.
On our drive back, we stopped to see Niagara Falls, which is (as they say) much better on the Canada side, complete with plenty of tourist-trap attractions.
Next up, another travel log from a quick-trip around the Midwest with my friends’ band! How about you guys? What kind of photos did you take during your trips?
