But what has this to do with the competitions section? Well, we’d like to try something new – complete the steps, then take one of your beloved analogue cameras (or the new La Sardina DIY camera), document the results and submit the photos once they are developed here. Please don’t upload any digital photos, don’t submit anything unrelated to this project (as much as we’d like to see blurred pictures of a party you went to last night, this is not the place) and watch out, the limit is two photos.
This is for fun and we’d like to present more projects like this in the future. See them all under diy.lomography.com. Let us know in the comments what you think of this and how you like this very project. We are looking forward to hearing from you!
Earlier this summer, in partnership with the Meural, Lomography NYC called for submissions to a rumble inspired by the German word sehnsucht. We are pleased to announce the photographs that were selected to be shown in our gallery and on the Meural platform, along with the grand prize winner!
We've teamed up with our friends at Sneak Attack Media to bring you The Rift Uprising Rumble, inspired by a new book by Amy S Foster. For this rumble, we'd like to see photos of where you think the government could be hiding a secret military base.
We're thrilled to present our new Kickstarter project—the New Lomography Daguerreotype Achromat 2.9/64 Art Lens! Inspired by the bold brass design of the world's first photographic optic, the Daguerreotype Achromat Art Lens is a versatile tool seeking the great return of dreamy imagery.
One Christmas, David Townsend was given the Konstruktor by his wife. It sparked an idea in his head, taking inspiration from Jack Lowe's Lifeboat Station project and his love for photography. He built and beautifully customised the Konstruktor and has just embarked on his own long term analogue project, because a camera is for life, not just for Christmas. Learn more about his project in this interview.
Faith Holgate, Lois McDonald, Anna Donigan and Sophie Galpin make up PINS, a Manchester-based band that has released two albums and crafted a unique, raw and confident sound. The band is signed to Bella Union, run by ex Cocteau Twins member Simon Raymonde and have been documenting their rock'n'roll life with the La Sardina camera.
Editing pictures with image manipulation software or a mobile app is not unheard of. An alienation of photos by needle and thread, on the other hand, is an intricate process. Los Angeles-based artist and photographer Diane Meyer has gained instant fame for her embroidered analog photos. In this interview, she talks about adding a new dimension to pictures as well as her source of inspiration and other projects.

I have always loved the idea of seeing my photos on stone and other natural materials. So, a few months ago, I began googling how it could be done. This is how I discovered (and fell in love with) liquid emulsion. Liquid emulsion is photographic emulsion which you can melt down and paint on any surface. You can then expose an image and develop it using traditional darkroom chemicals. In this article, I would like to explain the process a little, so that if you are also interested in giving this fun process a go, you can!
