Hey Megs79!
Tell us a little about yourself…

I live in St. Louis, Missouri with my husband and two Cairn Terriers. Art’s always been a driving force for me, and I studied it in college. I was an oil painter and graphic designer, but everything changed in 2010 when I discovered analogue photography. The Diana was my first film camera, and she completely rejuvenated my creative passion. I now show my photos at local art galleries almost every month.

How did you first discover the Diana F+?

I was shopping in an Urban Outfitters store for my husband’s birthday, and I discovered a display full of interesting plastic cameras. I got really excited about the Diana F+ I adored her retro design…even her name had me transfixed. I decided to take her home for myself. We were going to Mardi Gras in New Orleans a week later, so I waited until then to use her for the first time. I threw her around my neck along with a pile of beads, and we headed out into the streets. Lots of people stared and pointed at my camera; I got asked lots of questions about her, too. I shot away during the whole trip, sometimes forgetting to change the focus or adjust for lighting…even accidentally leaving the cap on a couple times! But I ended up falling in love with the dreamy and beautifully imperfect photos my Diana produced.

    Janne Parviainen: Light Magician

Janne Parviainen is a 35-year-old artist from Helsinki, Finland. He is both a painter and a photographer but sometimes, he swaps his painting tools for light and creates illuminated pieces of art. Abandoned places are his favorite places for shoots because, according to him, "there's so much lived life and stories in abandoned places, they are the lost diaries and photos turned to dust of lives that once bloomed."
