Numerous attractions, the 2012 Olympics, Harry Potter, and the Royal Family aside, what else is there to be excited about going to London? Given the city’s popularity, each and every one of us practically has an idea of what can be found in London…or do you? An experience in itself, getting into a London cab might be quite pricey, but it’s still one of the most unique experiences that one may have in London.
The London Eye
Who doesn’t know what the London Eye is??? For those whose memories need to be refreshed: “The London Eye is a giant Ferris wheel situated on the banks of the River Thames in London, England. The entire structure is 135 metres (443 ft) tall and the wheel has a diameter of 120 metres (394 ft).” – Source
Aside from hiring a cab, another uniquely London, way of exploring, well, London…is by hopping on one of the city’s iconic double-decker buses.
As we continue with our talk of touring around London, another popular way is through the London Underground. If you’re a fan of Neverwhere, this makes it all the more a must-see.
Splattered all over the city, London graffiti is not just your usual chicken scrawl on the wall, in fact, it has been elevated as a popular art form that is favored by tourists and locals alike.
Notoriously expensive, but a trip to London for shopping addicts wouldn’t be complete without buying something at Harrods. It’s paper bag is iconic as that of Bloomingdale’s; and with the wide assortment of goods, like ginormous versions of designer perfume and ostrich eggs, you’re bound to find something you like here – just don’t forget to check the price first!
