Haven’t you heard? Photokina 2012 is coming soon! Haven’t been to a Photokina fair before? Well, read up and we’ll give you a list of fun things to do there. Expect something big from the Lomographic Society!
Photokina is THE place to be if you’re crazy about imaging and photography. You can get to know your favorite brand better there and even meet people who share the same interests with you. Whatever your focus is in photography, you will find something at Photokina…especially at Photokina 2012!
Photokina is a biennial event, so if you miss it this year, you’ll have to wait another two years. Still not motivated to go? Let’s give you a sneak peek into what Lomography has to offer at Photokina 2012.
Besides the obvious awesome showcases of Lomography cameras and the fun and interactive workshops, the Lomographic Society is going to present you a heavy-duty project. Imagine a massive walk-on photo map of Germany in front of Cologne’s main train station, right next to the cathedral!
The “LomoFloor” map will cover a 1,000m² surface and will display more than 150,000 photos of Germany’s most beautiful places taken by lomographers with analog cameras, of course! Some of the pictures are those that were submitted for the nationwide photography competition, People and Professions of Your City.
This oversized map is actually a kickoff of the LomoWorldMap project. Following Photokina, the map will go on a worldwide tour. So if you’re in Cologne for the Photokina, make sure you check out this “LomoFloor” map before it travels around the world!
