Perak, is the second largest state in Peninsular Malaysia. Perak means silver in Malay. The name comes probably from the silvery colour of tin. Today, let’s discover Perak – The Land of Grace together with Gladys, the girl from Kampar, Perak!

Hello, tell us a bit about yourself and your Lomographic journey.

I am a true believer in randomness. Back to my Lomographic journey 2 years back, my friends gave me a Diana Mini as a birthday present and it was my first Lomography Camera. Then, one of my close friends is an analogue camera retailer (Photo Crafts), and undoubtedly, I knock on his door whenever I have any questions and problems about the camera. Slowly, it has become my habit, hobby and daily routine.

What the best part shooting with a bunch of Lomography enthusiasts?

We share the passion and exchange different tips.

And the worst?

I over-burn too many rolls of film, it happens to me all the time.

Do you enjoy shooting alone or do you prefer shooting together with the community?

It’s part of my life, I definitely enjoy shooting anytime, anywhere, with or without anyone.

What is the definition of analogue lifestyle to you?

Keep shooting film and spread the word about how great it is to others! It’s the only way to help keep it around for years to come.

Can you tell us about the most heart-warming moments that ever happened in your life, so far?

When I received a Sprocket Rocket Times Square Edition as my birthday present, it was really unexpected!

What was the most unforgettable, strangest, funniest, or worst photographic/Lomographic experience that you encountered before?

When I loaded my first roll of film, I was wondering why I could take so many shots for a roll—even 80 shots. At last, I realized that the film wasn’t loaded at all!

What’s your favorite photo in your collection and why?

I like to shoot the sky, no matter if it is day or night; sunset or sunrise. My favorite photo was taken inside an airplane. I felt lucky to have been able to capture this great moment!

Were you born in Perak? Where is your location now?

Yes, I born in Perak and I love Perak. I am staying in Petaling Jaya now.

Tell us what do you love the most about Perak?

Mountains, peaceful ambiance, and its food!

The food! Is there any finger licking good food that you love in Perak?
Fishball meehoon in Kampar Pasar. Nothing can replace its freshness, juiciness, and tastiness.

Where would you bring your friend to go when they pay you a visit at Perak?

I will bring my friend to Kampar Pasar and 36-Stalls, as there are lots of delicious food, such as Fishball, Laksa, and Char Kuey Teow.

Thanks for your time! Before we wrap things up, do you mind letting us know which Lomography product is your favorite and why?

My favorite camera is LC-Wide, it’s easy to fit everyone in the picture. It’s portable, flexible yet fashionable.

The Lomo LC-Wide boasts the newly-developed 17mm Minigon Ultra-Wide Angle lens. This 35mm camera wonder is the perfect companion for your photo expeditions. It produces eye-catching splashes of colour with astonishing saturation and contrasts with the added versatility of 3 different formats. Open up to a new photographic experience with the LC-Wide, available in our Shop.
