Sentosa

2009-09-02 3

Offering a variety of experiences for all ages, Sentosa is a must-visit destination for tourists and a popular recreational playground for local residents.

Looking at Sentosa today, it’s hard to imagine the island was once a fishing village known as Pulau Blakang Mati. It later became a British military fortress until 1967 and was handed back to the newly independent Singapore Government. In 1968, the Government decided to develop the island into a holiday resort for local visitors and tourists.

Today, Sentosa is Singapore’s premier island resort getaway with multi-faceted appeal, teeming with events all year round. Just 15 minutes from the city, it is a unique blend of leisure and recreational facilities including family attractions, sea sports, golf as well as hotel accommodation and retreats.

10 attractions, 1 location. Situated near Mount Imbiah on Sentosa, Imbiah Lookout is the latest cluster of new and exciting attractions that will appeal to all. Adventure-seeker, nature lover, history-buff…whatever your calling, there is always something fun and exhilarating for everyone to experience.

Here are some attractions to look out for at the Imbiah Lookout situated in the heart of Sentosa Island.
- Cable Car
- The Merlion
- Images of Singapore
- Butterfly Park & Insect Kingdom
- Tiger Sky Tower
- Sentosa 4D Magix
- Sentosa Cineblast
- Desperados

    Stalking the City: Ricardo Lozano

New York is an infinitely photographable city in spite—or because—of its innate chaos. And even when the medium is film, praised nowadays for the virtue of slowness, the photographer must keep up with the city’s pace. Ricardo Lozano, 35mm photographer and Lomography community member, managed to do it for the series OK Commuter, now a book by A Love Token Press.
