Here at Lomography Gallery Store Manchester, we don’t like to pass up an invite to a party. Especially when that party involves the opening of one of the most exciting museums to hit the North West mixed with lots of free pouring Champagne!
What: The National Football Museum Grand Opening!
Where: The National Football Museum
We were greeted with champagne and nibbles served on astro turf and speeches from some of the most famous names in football; Sir Bobby Charlton and Sir Geoff Hurst amongst others. Blue versus red banter was bountiful, needless to say.
We even managed to snatch a photo with Sir Geoff Hurst (caught a little off guard so only caught it on our phone)!
We were then let loose in the museum to be amongst the first to glimpse at all the exhibitions. The museum is inspiring and interactive while following the history of football it brings you right into the modern day where you can even take part in a penalty shoot out, or play a game of football over a large computer screen and download your coaching suggestions when you get home!
The museum is now open and free for all to visit, so we highly recommend getting down there to check it out this summer!
