A shopping destination worth visiting for shopping-addicts of all kinds! A few days ago, my cousins and I went to visit Rantau Panjang. Sounds unfamiliar? That’s because Rantau Panjang is a small district located at the Malaysian-Thailand border, near Sungai Golok (pronounced as “Su-ngai Kolok”). This place is famous among shopaholics for duty-free shopping.
Being in Rantau Panjang makes you feel as if you’re in Thailand already. You’ll see a lot of cars, motorcycles, and cute scooters around with Siamese license plates on it.
One of the special things here is the food from the hawkers. You’ll see many stalls selling ‘Lok-Ching’, a kind of dish skewered and grilled over charcoal fire. This food comes in various shapes and may consist of chicken, beef, prawn or fish and is eaten with delicious sweet and spicy sauce.
The main reason that attracts people to visit Rantau Panjang is because it offers a satisfying shopping experience. You can get a lot of things from kitchenware, fashionable clothes, accessories, football jerseys, snacks…the list goes on! This place is a real shopping heaven, especially for women!
When you shop here, get your best price. Bring out your bargaining talent and make sure you get the lowest price. Good luck! :)
