Are you absolutely and positively in love with a specific film, and would like to show of the photos you’ve taken with it? Let me show you how you can turn prints of your photos into a crafty statement of love for your film!
One day, I saw some empty boxes of Lomography Redscale XR 50-200 lying around and thought, “It’s a nice film that gets interesting the more you get used to shooting with it; why don’t I make something to show how lovely its photos can get?” Unfortunately, I didn’t have prints of my shots taken using this redscale film, but my LomoFriend yanicat had some, so I asked her for a couple of them and put my thinking cap on.
Here’s what I came up with:
Do you want to make some as well? It’s obviously pretty easy, so let me show you how!
What you will need:
- Prints of your photos
- A pair of scissors
- Film boxes
- Magic tape or glue
Here’s how to do it:
1. Take your film box and cut out all the pertinent details like the brand name, film type, etc. I found it easy to work with Lomography Film boxes because everything is enclosed in simple outlines, and thus, are easier to cut.
2. You should have bits and pieces that look like the ones I had above.
3. Cut up some tape, fold the sticky side together to form a double-sided tape of some sort, and stick it to the back of your cut-outs.
4. Assemble the bits and pieces on the prints and press them to stick. And voila, you have some crafty and scrapbook-y pieces that do not only let you brag about your awesome shots, but also tell how much you love the films you’ve used!
Thanks yanicat for letting me use your prints!
