Gallery Hop Downtown Highlights

This special CONTACT Photography Festival workshop brought a crew from the Lomography Gallery Store Toronto to several unique exhibitions in the heart of the city. Armed with Diana F+ cameras and some of Lomography’s colour film, we experimented with multiple exposures, long exposures and also pinhole photography. On such a beautiful, sunny day it was easy to find many subjects to photograph and places to explore.

Our self-guided tour began with the artist run building at 401 Richmond Street. We discovered the exhibition at Gallery 44 and we were also able to photograph other unique areas in this amazing building.

Our next stop lead us to the larger than life billboards at Front St. and Spadina Ave. These incredible photographic enlargements included a colossal Polaroid image which can be seen mixed into this cool double exposure image below!

After a nice afternoon reviewing the galleries and public exhibitions featured in the CONTACT festival we headed back to 536 Queen St. West to enjoy some refreshing air conditioning! What a relief after a hot sunny day. Be sure to check out more of our exciting workshops this summer!

Workshops are $10 ($7 for students) unless otherwise noted. Workshop admission includes a free roll of film and a loaner camera if applicable. All participants will receive a 10% coupon for the store! Be sure to arrive early if you want to borrow a camera as quantities are limited.
