Put on Your Flashiest Frock and Dance with the Coloursplash Flash!

Even before getting into this whole “Lomography” craze I had an infatuation with colorful pictures. However, more than that, I always wondered just how photographers were able to get their subjects glowing in such bright colors. Cue the Colorsplash Flash by Lomography! Making colorful pictures easier than ever

Colorful flashes have been around long before this system. Technically since the first time a photographer put cellophane on his/her flash, or even if they accidentally let a colorful translucent object get in the way, colorful flashes have existed. However, never before has there been a system which let you have so much fun so easily!

Basically made up a flash surrounded by a rotating color-filter system, changing the color of your flash is as easy as rotating the dial. However, incase 4 colors just wasn’t enough to choose from, the entire collection comes with far more filters, and changing those is as easy as slipping the old out and the new in.

So what about the results you ask? Each scenario produces different results, ranging from a singular bright subject in a sea of regular colors, a monochrome-look or even no color at all! It just depends on the situation! Experiment with different colors on each multiple-exposure!

However, one thing always remains the same, that is, your pictures will always be saturated with bright, vivid colors! Combining this delectable device with other accessories such as the LC-A Wide Angle Lens makes for crazy night time vignettes, helping further focus the viewer’s eye into the center on the out of this world subject.

Watch out though, don’t get too close with this potent flash. Always watch for over-exposing your subjects. Especially when used with the LC-A+ with a second-curtain synced flash. Whilst this is amazing in most situations, allowing for a sharp subject in a sea of blurry light with long exposures, when the camera decides to close the second shutter curtain, it has deemed there to be “enough light” so when the flash goes off, if it is too close to the subject, it can get washed out in a sea of white!

Despite the niggles however, this is immense fun in a tiny, affordable package. It is the perfect accessory to any night-shooter with a hot-shoe. Don’t sit there and do nothing! Get in on this wonderful world of color!
