With Bare Feet, They Dance...on Burning Embers?

“I want to see you as a dancer…like the desert gypsy women.” This is a line from a famous song of Italian singer and composer Franco Battiato; one of his most successful song! Here, you can enjoy a funny belly dance performed by some students of an Upper School of Como, Italy (Istituto Teresa Ciceri), in occasion of the Creativity Day!

Every year, in the month of May, the Upper Schools of Como organize a wonderful public event known as “Art and Creativity Day,” with the support of the Provincial School Office. You can see chess players, technical projects, dance, singers, concerts, quizzes, and many other products of the creativity of the students!

In this series, you can see two pretty girls who perform a funny belly dance!

Nothing better than Franco Battiato’s song “I wanna see you as a dancer” (from his album Echoes from Sufi Songs (1985) matched with this series of photos, in a saucy summer fest! Let dance “With bare feet… on burning embers..” or almost!

The audience was composed of students and passers-by. They took part in this dance and other shows of hip-hop, modern dance, gymnastic, which I’ll show you in others articles. These photos were taken with my trusty Praktica MTL 5, with the excellent lens Helios 44M, and with a Fujicolor 200 film roll. These photos were digitized with a professional scanner of a mini-lab. I gave a CD-rom with the photos to the girls, and they were very happy for this!

After a long winter, I want to offer to you some funny moments in a summer series taken “just for fun”! I like to photograph people, expecially in feast events! I like to photograph the joy of living!

Good light at all!
