MUBI Movie Night with Lomography San Francisco

It’s movie night at the Lomography Gallery Store San Francisco! We’re launching the MUBI Edition LomoKino in our retail space this evening, and showing acclaimed director Apichatpong Weerasethakul’s LomoKino film “Ashes”. More details after the jump!

It’s 6:45PM in California; The night is young, and here at the Lomography Gallery Store San Francisco the party’s just getting started. We’ve got an funky mix blaring through the stereo, a collection of tunes as diverse as the city itself. We’re enjoying the grooves, and it’s keeping the pace of the party up!

There’s been a lot of anticipation for this film, especially because of the groundbreaking nature of it’s production. We’re used to seeing the LomoKino used for short stories, minute-long snippets of our analogue worlds. We knew that the camera was capable of more, and we’re very excited that the challenge has been met!

Thus, cinema junkies and analogue shooters alike have gathered to screen Apichatpong Weerasethakul's LomoKino film, “Ashes”. Ashes premiered last weekend at the Cannes Film Festival, and has been available to view online since; However, we’ve been holding out on watching it because we wanted to see it together with all of our local Lomographers!

With flavored popcorn and soda pop in hand, the crowd’s getting settled. It’s just about showtime. Lights, camera… Action!
