Let’s go and enjoy the sunset as summer is here again! There are too many skyscrapers in the city and the pace of life is too fast. Let’s get closer to nature during the weekends and holiday away!
Ha Pak Nai is located at Yuen Long’s Lau Fau Shan and is one of the best places in Hong Kong to see the sunset. There is a flat wetland covered by mangrove trees, and nice mirror reflections of the sunset or sunlight on the water. Under favorable weather conditions, you can get a great landscape shot just by pressing the shutter.
The best sunset shooting positions would be filled with photographers and their tripods, ever ready to capture the illusive moment. Actually there is no need to stand and wait in position. You can arrive after lunch, have an afternoon tea with your friends, and have some fun shooting and playing with water. You can have a look at the mudskippers, shrimps, crabs, and have a leisurely afternoon under the clear blue skies. The sunset will arrive sooner than expected.
After enjoying the sunset, you can also have a sumptuous seafood dinner at Lau Fau Shan to round up the perfect day!
Take Mini Bus #33 from Yuen Long Tai Fung Street Minibus Terminus, after passing by Lau Fau Shan’s roundabout, alight at Ap Tsai Hang.
(After sunset and as the crowd disperses, it would be good if you have the cab’s call center number in advance.)
Please wear light clothing such as shorts and flip flops so as to move around easily on the wetland.
