Do not miss the chance to experience Hanok Stay when you visit Seoul, South Korea. “Hanok Stay” means staying in a traditional Korean house. It is a great chance to experience traditional Korean lifestyle and culture.
We had our stay at Eugene House during our last visit to Seoul. Eugene House is a square Korean traditional house, which was built 70 years ago. It is located in the middle of Seoul, near Myeongdong. They have limited rooms (eight guestrooms). Thus, you have to make reservations earlier before you visit Seoul. The owner speaks English, Japanese, Chinese, and Korean.
5-43 Hyewha dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul Korea
Eugene House is located in a housing area where you might have to spend sometime to get there or you can ask people around to guide you to reach their place. You can take a cab from Eugene House to reach Gyeongbokgung, Dongdaemun, and Myeongdong, which is about a 5- to 10-minute drive.
The room that we stayed in was really small. It is okay to fit in 3 persons in the room although there was not much space left for the luggage. It doesn’t really have much space left to allow us to walk inside the room as well. There is no bed just a thin mattress on the floor. The room comes with a private bathroom and it is very clean. There is a nice outdoor area where you can sit down and relax.
Breakfast is also served here. They served porridge, kimchi, tea, and toast. Breakfast time is only from 8am to 9am if I am not mistaken. Most of the guests will be having breakfast together in the dining area. We met some Malaysians as well and some guests from China. This will be a good chance to meet new friends from different countries as well.
Eugene House is a great option if you want to experience Hanok Stay when you visit Seoul.
