The Fashion Collective Invades Lomography Canada!

We had the great pleasure of meeting Brian Richards and Mel Ashcroft of the Fashion Collective earlier this year and they’ve become super fans of Lomography! We thought that it was only fitting to have them come into the LGS Toronto for a special workshop hosted by Lomography Canada. Brian and Mel brought along fashion designer Sid Neigum to join the fun. Read on to see what went down!

The Fashion Collective is a creative production and management group, steeped in arts and culture, with a strong focus on representing new and emerging Canadian designers. They work with young, up-and-coming Canadian talent to aid in building their success in both Canadian and international markets from both an artistic and a business aspect. Designers like Sid Neigum are great examples of the talent that we have in Canada. Sid has showed at the past few seasons of Toronto Fashion Week and joins an elite group of designers including Chloé comme Parris, Amanda Lew Kee, Cara Cheung, Klaxon Howl, Juma, Thomas, Laura Siegel and Travis Taddeo.

We started off with an introduction to Lomography and how the company all began. After enforcing the Fashion Collective with the 10 Golden Rules, we gave quick tutorials on how to use some of our best cameras, including the Lomo LC-A+, the Diana F+ and the La Sardina. A few test shots later, we headed out on to Queen Street to take some lomographs! This even included an impromptu visit to Chloé comme Parris' studio!

Stay tuned to Lomography Canada for more from The Fashion Collective in the not-so-far-ahead future!
