It’s definitely getting hot, hot, hot, and here at the Locations section, we’ve been receiving a lot of articles for one of this month’s requested posts, “Island in the Sun” which basically features anything and everything related to the beach! And with the summer season in full swing in the tropics – and just around the corner in some other countries, it’s not surprising that the top three articles for the week are all about beaches, can you guess which one stood out the most?
Driving all the way up to the northern coast of Peru, to the city of Mancora, joseman catches our attention with his direct take on a memorable vacation.
“After driving more than 1000km from Lima, we finally arrived at a small but busy town in the northern coast of Peru. It might be full of tourists most of the year but it’s still my favorite place to rest from the crowd of the big city. Sun, beach, great food, drinks, and awesome people…that’s what I always find in Mancora.” – joseman
Aside from his fun take of his experience in Mancora, what makes joseman's article such a pleasure to read are his great photos! Truly capturing the fun spirit of the seaside, joseman admits that he even took three cameras and a bunch of films with him on this trip – ensuring that he doesn’t miss a moment.
Here’s a sampling of what he’s got to say about Mancora:
“This place has it all! You can find calm, quiet, and fancy hotels (if that’s what you’re looking for) or if you wanna do it the “Mancora way”, you can check in to one of the many backpacker hostels in town. Actually, this is the favorite choice when looking for accommodations because of the pool-parties they have every night! But activities here are not just limited to partying. The hostels are full of fantastic people from all over the world who you can chat with, have some drinks, sleep in one of the many hammocks, chill out on the sand or just do whatever you want to do.”
