Have fun admiring the beautiful blue sea in Pulau Perhentian, Terengganu, at the east coast of Malaysia. Last month my family and I went on a short, 2-day vacation to Perhentian Island, Terengganu, Malaysia. Perhentian Island consists of two islands, the Big Island and the Small Island. Both islands are reachable through a 30-minute speedboat ride. Once the boat came close to the island, we were mesmerized by the clear, turquoise color of the ocean. I’ve never seen such a clear ocean my entire life!
We choose to stay at Senja Bay Resort, which is situated on Coral Bay. Coral Bay is one of the places that you can catch a sunset view of the islands.
The first thing we did after checking in to our rooms was to go on a snorkeling trip. Snorkeling is one of the island’s main attractions. The operator (boatman) will take you to a few snorkeling spots around the islands. Usually the snorkeling trip will cost RM20 to RM40 per person and will take about 3 to 5 hours.
My favorite snorkeling spot is Fish Garden in Big Island. There are lots of colorful, small fishes that will swim around you. You’ll feel like you’re in an aquarium or something. ;) And please, please, please bring your underwater camera.
After the snorkeling trip, I spent the evening watching the sunset with my little sister.
Finally on the next day, it was time for us to leave the island. I hope that I could come back here in the future. Here are more pictures that I’ve snapped:
