One of the more popular pools frequented by swimmers of Oahu, the Manoa Valley Swimming Pool can be a pretty crowded place. But during swim meets, it’s a great opportunity to capture athletes in action!
I have to admit that I have hardly ever gone to this pool except for a swim meet. But I am told that this pool is usually quite calm without all the swimmers in it.
When bigger swim meets [such as the Manoa Invitational and the Harry Mamizuka Invitational] come up, the Manoa Valley Swimming Pool is a very busy place. Swimmers from all over the island drive down for the meets. For those of you that like action shots, this is the place!
During most meets, you will see swimmers waiting around for their events to come up. At this time, they usually do some interesting things to pass the time.
One of the greatest things about this place is all of the people that you meet there. Including the people that are on your swim team and those that are from elsewhere. The fun thing about knowing people is that they will almost always ask you to take pictures of them if they see you with a camera!
This pool is definitely an interesting place for a lomographer. So the next time you decide to go for a swim, put this pool into consideration and don’t forget your camera!
