I know I can’t marry myself but I would like to do it, because I feel real love for me. I wouldn’t marry myself only for getting extra paid holidays or….would I?
Without a doubt, the best camera for self-portraits is the Fisheye. Its wide-angle lens make it easier to fit in the photo frame. The header photo was the most popular picture in my home during a lot of months. I take it in a disco a crazy night in the South of Tenerife with my University friends. Next morning, we had to be in the North of the island to go kayaking and we had hardly slept.
Next self-portraits were taken my first day in my lomography life. It was on Easter holiday and I had just been to hairdresser. When I arrived home I wanted to try out my new purchase and I was playing the fool with the camera. Finally, I loved the results.
This picture is also from the first roll film during Easter Holiday in the beach. It was my first double exposure!
My love for moustaches began with a competition in Lomography that supported Movember initiative.
When I received the Colorsplash Flash, I also tried it out with some self-portraits. It was my present for Christmas, I was staying at my grandmother´s home and it was very cold.
At another boring day at home, I took these shots from the fridge using the Colorsplash Flash.
But Fisheye is not the only good for self-portraits, you can also use another wide-angle camera like the Sprocket Rocket. It is perfect for multiple exposures, you can clone yourself in different colors. You only have to advance a bit the roll film every time you shot or changing the camera position.
But if you love seeing you multiplied, you can to use a multi-lens camera.
Another wide-angle camera is the La Sardina. You can also shoot good selfportraits using double exposures. I shot this one in a Palace in Seoul.
But actually, you can take good self-portraits with any camera. You don’t have to shoot with a wide-angle camera or have a long gadget arms. Just take an interesting pose and stretch your arms. Surely you will enjoy the results.
