Dwejra Bay is a place of wild nature with a great natural arch that plunges into the sea, an ideal place for a romantic spring! Where is this beautiful place? It is in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea, in Malta (Island of Gozo).
To reach it from Sliema (the place of my hotel in Malta), I took a bus and arrived after about an hour and a half to the ferry boat pier. Then after 40 minutes on the boat, I reached Gozo Island. I took a tourist bus to visit the whole island and my trusty Lomo LC-A was my great companion!
Gozo Island has two wonderful bays: Calypso Bay and Dwejra Bay. The first one is perfect for sunbathers, the second one is a wonderful angle of wild nature! See below the wonderful arch.
There is no sand, so walking along the bay is a little difficult due to the irregularities of the rocks but the landscape is incredible! Even if you see people above the the arch, I strongly discourage climbing: there are signs indicating the prohibition of exceeding a certain limit: the rock is friable and can be dangerous!
A great place for the beginning of spring!
There is a little church between the red/brownish rocks!
The sky was cloudy and the light changed often, it was a really great opportunity to experiment with a Lomographic camera! The color of the sky contrasts so beautifully with the reddish color of the rocks! A highly recommended place to stay some hours with your girlfriend!
