Square Format = Diana F+ = 120 ? YES! Absolutely yes! How about Diana Mini? Yes! I think everybody enjoys the square format. Here are some tips that you could use!
1. Be Calm
Shooting with square format is different from the usual formats. Just be calm before you press the shutter and do not click wildly.
Compose with your subject in mind. I just love shooting portraits using square format. It makes me feel smart in a way. Well, not all the time.
3. Put your subject in the middle
Seems cliche but I find this very helpful when shooting with square format. It gives you room to think and ask yourself “Where do I put the cat on the frame?” or “Where does she fit on this frame?”. So just try to put it in the middle like that Jimmy Eat World song.
4. Look through your viewfinder
I do this when I’m travelling just to make sure that the object is good to shoot. Just a formality before I press the shutter button. Click!
5. Have fun
Using square format doesn’t mean that you have to follow these tips! Just have fun with it! Don’t think just shoot! Don’t think just have some fun using the square format!
You gotta love square format like the message on this boxer!
