They share the same interest, therefore they get to know each other from a local Lomography community 4 years back then. They are match made from heaven! Read more about their love stories after the jump!
Faisal_aziz, is a Human Rights Education Coordinator for Amnesty International Malaysia. He loves books, art, and traveling. Dellia or Liyana, is a Technical Writer who is quite a shy person at first but could talk all day about music and photography, even to strangers! Well, that’s shown how much she is into photography and music!
How did you meet each other?
We’ve joined a local lomography group called Lomokids (now known as Effekts) and we got to know each other from there.
How long have you been together?
We’ve been friends for about 4 years, and a couple for about 9 months.
What do you love about each other the most?
Faisal: We have same interest in music. We enjoy reading books, taking photographs, and doing photography projects together. What I like most is that we’re really into collecting Polaroid cameras.
Liyana: He’s understanding, loving, and caring.
Is he/she your source of inspiration?
Faisal: Yes, I admire her so much, as she seems soft on the outside, but strong and very patient inside. She always gives me advice on my works and studies. As I climb my steps to success, she gives me support and good advice along the way.
Liyana: Yes, he is. He taught me a lot of things, not only about photography, but many other stuff as well.
What sorts of favourite activities do you do together as a couple?
We enjoy travelling so much, and now we are planning a road trip to Scandinavian countries.
Do you usually shoot together? What are some of your favourite things about shooting photographs together?
Yup, we love to do self portraits.
Tell us the most heart-warming moments that happened in your life, so far?
Faisal: Unexpected surprise DIY birthday party by her!
Liyana: When he said he wants to go further with this relationship, to get married.
What is the definition of analogue lifestyle to you?
Faisal: The lifestyle that involves appreciations of ideas, and thoughts. To be more engaged with community and society, to share the love of a same interest, to cherish the differences, and to respect each other.
Liyana: Analogue is the way of life to those who really appreciate D.I.Y movements, things that you do on your own. It gives you an overwhelming satisfaction.
The most unforgettable, strangest, funniest or worst photographic/Lomographic encounter that you both ever had together.
Faisal: Most of my cameras medium format, and I have to wind it manually for next frame. One time I forgot to wind and accidentally doubled the Liyana portraits. Sometimes it really produces funny pictures and she usually tells me not to share it on the internet.
Liyana: For me, it would be the time when we went to London’s Lomography store. It wasn’t easy to find since we weren’t familiar with the place, but we finally made it there after going through the freezing winter weather.
Tell us something about what both of you been doing lately, like your latest project and your future plans?
Faisal: We just travelled around London, and it was an exciting moment as we spent time together in the cold winter of London. As for the future plan, to get married!
Liyana: We are planning on some black and white photo project together at the moment.
If you could go together to any place in the world to shoot, where would it be and why?
We would like to go to one of the Scandinavian countries to experience and capture the beauty of nature over there together.
If you could gift your partner any Lomography camera, what would it be and why?
Do you have any tips & tricks or shoutouts for other LomoCouples out there?
Faisal: Make love through photographs. Do doubles projects. Lomo On, LomoCouple!
Liyana: Have much love and respect for each other. Most importantly, have fun and cherish every moment! :)
What will you be doing this Valentine’s Day?
Faisal: To love each other even more than before.
Liyana: Spend quality time together, probably go to dinner.
