“The Great Lover Loved By All But His Loves.” A stylized silent film honoring the life of Hollywood’s first sex symbol and silent screen icon, Rudolph Valentino, and Hollywood’s 100th anniversary.
The Silent Life is a directorial debut by Vlad Koslov, and is based on the troubled life of legendary silent screen actor Rudolph Valentino. Famous for being called “The Great Lover” of Hollywood cinema, his personal life suggests otherwise – he could not even satisfy his own wife.
Seen through the perspective of Valentino in a coma (after a collapse), the film shows a glimpse into his Hollywood past life, and his life post-coma under the care of a nurse’s aid who shows him the real meaning of love.
