Painting the walls, taking out the trash, scrubbing grease off a skillet…how mundane! These very real, everyday, activities are the subjects Lego builder, Bruce Lowell, represents in his marvelous sculptures! Forget pirate ships and dinosaurs and step into a world of fantasy that’s a little closer to reality.
Lowell’s creations look so convincingly real, you could lose a tooth! What we mean is that, that glazed, sprinkle topped, doughnut looks so delicious you’d probably steal a bite when no one was looking! And you could probably play a bit of lego billiards before either the pieces of the lego billiard balls come apart or you end up tearing holes in the expensive cloth lining the table!
These creations aren’t just cool but prove that creativity knows no bounds! In this age of excess, we may think creativity dead, but are proven wrong, and delightfully so! And, in regards to the construction toys, that are lego blocks, being fashioned into the above objects by Bruce Lowell, we think the following quote hits the mark!
“The creation of something new is not accomplished by the intellect but by the play instinct acting from inner necessity. The creative mind plays with the objects it loves.” – Carl Jung
