Art in the City: Singapore Art Museum

The Singapore Art Museum is a great place to bring your children for workshops or to spend some time browsing exhibitions.

Officially opened in 1996, the Singapore Art Museum (also affectionately called ‘SAM’) is focused on advocating and presenting the contemporary art practices of Singapore and Southeast Asia

SAM is located in the heart of Singapore’s major shopping district and Waterloo Street Arts Belt, alongside Singapore’s major performing arts and visual arts institutions such as the Nanyang Academy of Fine Art, LaSalle College of the Arts, and the Stamford Arts Centre.

Its galleries showcase sculptures, installations, and paintings from Singapore, Southeast Asia, and also all around the world. There are also often lectures and workshops held for families and children.
